Graphic Data Processing and Multimedia (GDPM)

Welcome to our department!

The Chair of Computer Graphics and Multimedia has been held by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Grosch since 2015.
The central research topic of the chair is global illumination, i.e. the photorealistic image synthesis of a three-dimensional scene.
This physically correct simulation of light is required in many application areas of virtual and augmented reality.
The graphics hardware (GPU) is used both to accelerate the simulation and for general purpose GPU applications.
